During your study time in LUT, you are most likely going to do a couple (unfortunately for me, not just a couple) group projects/assignments. So this post is going to be about the co-working places that LUT offers for students to use.
LUT has a great library, with countless computers for you to use. The aspect of the library, which I personally like the most, is that if you know beforehand that you have to do a group project, you can reserve a room for your group. The last group project that I did, we had to record a video talking about the different innovative strategies of different companies, and we could do this perfectly fine without background noise in one of the rooms at the library. Your tutor will be able to advise on how you can reserve the rooms. The rooms themselves have computers, tables and chairs. They are miniature conference rooms, which are just perfect for students to use. There are also classrooms equipped with computers all around the school, and in the library, in which you and your group can work.
Once you walk around LUT, you will notice that there are many comfortable (or not so comfortable) design couches all around the place. These couches and chairs are perfect for a nice little chat with your group mates. The picture along with this post is an example of a little table that you can work on, and what I personally like about that spot, is that even though its near the cafeteria and in a usually crowded area, the design still creates a sense of privacy when sitting in it.
This does not exactly relate to the topic of the post, but I thought it was worth mentioning. If you want to be a loner like I do every now and then, you can go sit in the closed off table chair combination. I don’t prefer to do this during the weekdays as its close to the entrance of the school, which is even more busy than the cafeteria. However if I realize that I haven’t studied for an exam that is coming up really fast, I go around to that spot on a Sunday and enjoy the quietness while I try to cram information into my head.
As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask, we are here to answer your questions.
