A fact about Finland: Moomins
Widely known fairytale characters Moomins are from Finland. Internationally beloved Moomins were created by Finnish writer and artist Tove Jansson between 1945 and 1977. Tova Jansson is the author of all the Moomin stories, that inspired later international TV shows and films. As you maybe know, the Moomins are a family of the cutest white trolls. They have an adventurous life that you can read about in the Moomin books.
When you come to Finland, you will find Moomins everywhere, starting with delicious Moomin treats, candies, and cookies, and ending with nice Moomin mugs made by the famous Finnish ceramics company Arabia.
There are also plenty of places to experience the Moomins in Finland. One of them is Moomin Museum in the city of Tampere. What especially attractive there is the real model of Moominhouse built by Tove Jansson to look in details at every corner of Moominhouse. What is more, you can find several Moomin cafés around the country to feel the coziest atmosphere ever. Finally, there is the Moomin-themed park in Naantali. Meeting the Moomin characters there and have fun with them is perfect for kids.
Today, I think the Moomins are part of the Finnish identity. They are so kind and family loving characters who inspire generations.
