What is the application deadline?
There are two application options, Regular Admission and Rolling Admission. Students can apply to Bachelor’s programmes in English through both admission types, but they cannot apply for both at the same time.
The application period for Bachelor’s studies that start in autumn 2022:
Regular Admissions: Starts 5 January 2022 and ends 19 January 2022 (UTC+2)
Rolling Admissions: Starts 1 November 2021 and ends 31 May 2022 at 15:00 (UTC +3)
What is the difference between Regular and Rolling Admissions?
Rolling admission for Bachelor’s programmes is an application path for those who have completed or are close to completing their Upper Secondary Education outside of Finland. You need to meet special eligibility requirements when applying to Bachelor’s programmes through rolling admission, and they can be checked on our website.
The regular application period is open for less than one month (5-19 January 2022), and the rolling application period is a continuous application period open from November 2021 until the end of May 2022. Applications sent in the rolling admission period are accepted and processed as long as there are places available in the programmes in rolling admission.
Applications for English language Bachelor’s programmes can be submitted during either admissions process, but not at the same time.
Do not Send Applications Through Regular and Rolling Admission Simultaneously
If you decide to apply through Regular Admission and will not get admitted, you still have an option to apply through Rolling Admission by the deadline of 31 May 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+3) after the results for Regular Admission are released on 25 April 2022 – given that you meet with the requirements for Rolling Admission.
If already applying through Regular Admission and submitting an application also through Rolling Admission before the results for Regular Admission being released, your application will not be considered or processed.
Apply Through Rolling Admission Only When You Have All the Required Documents and Results Ready.
If you decide to apply through Rolling Admission at the early days of the application period, you must wait for your admission result – and if not getting admitted, you still have an option to apply through Regular Admission, if you will have your result by the deadline of Regular Admission on 19 January 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+2) given that you meet with the requirements for Regular Admission.
Am I eligible to apply for a Bachelor’s Programme during Regular Admissions?
You are eligible:
- with an SAT score
- with a relevant upper secondary level degree
- if your required degree will be complete by the application deadline
Please see the specific requirements of each application path on our website. One part of the eligibility is also being able to provide LUT Admissions Services with the educational documents as requested.
How can I complete an eligible application that makes it to the evaluation stage?
- Carefully read and follow the instructions for applying
- Pay attention to all the requirements – the general and the programme-specific ones
- Take a language test as soon as possible when required
- Pay attention to document authentication when required
- Answer the questions on your online application form carefully and just as requested

Bachelor’s Programme in Technology and Engineering Science:
You can apply for a tuition fee waiver in your second year of studies.
- For the second academic year, 50% scholarships will be granted for the students successfully completing the studies on the first academic year (min.of 60 ECTS credits).

Yes, we do accept a study gap.
When can I receive an update on my application status?
After submitting your online application, we will reply as soon as we have checked your application. We always review applications as soon as possible and in the order we receive them. Please wait patiently for our reply – we do our best to respond quickly, but at times we receive large numbers of applications at the same time. E-mailing inquiries about your application’s status unfortunately only slows down the process.
I applied last year. Do I need to submit my educational documents for my application again?
Yes, you have to apply again and submit your educational documents just as you did the first time.
According to the Finnish Universities Act, all application documents are to be filed for several years just as they were at the time of applying and cannot, therefore, be used again for applying.
When should I arrive for my studies? May I arrive late?
You must be able to start your studies on the Orientation Days at the end of August/early September. Late arrivals are accepted up to a certain point only due to delays in residence permit issues, and the university should be notified of arrival delays.
Do I need to apply again for a Master’s programme at LUT after completing my Bachelor’s degree?
As a graduate from an LUT Bachelor’s programme, you will be automatically entitled to continue your studies in a Master’s programme at LUT University.
