LUT University operates in two cities; Lappeenranta and Lahti. Both campuses offer students a great place to live and study with everything from student restaurants and libraries to sports facilities and health service all in one place.

Lappeenranta Campus

LUT University’s Lappeenranta campus is located in the district of Skinnarila, seven kilometres from the city centre. The compact campus by the beautiful Lake Saimaa offers LUT students all of the student services needed.

Most student apartments are located within walking distance, and the university premises offer everything from laboratories to library services, from restaurants to health care – literally under one roof. You get a student discount on meals in the six campus restaurants, and you will end up paying € 1.80–4.60 depending on the dish.

The campus offers multiple sports facilities, such as gyms, ice-skating rinks, and beach volleyball, badminton and tennis courts. The MOVEO student sports services also arrange group fitness workouts and enable booking the campus courts for ball games. The gym is EUR 25 / 6 months and gym & group exercises EUR 50 / 6 months. You will receive a personal key to the campus buildings, providing you 24-hour access to services such as the gym, library or computers.

The Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) provides general, mental and dental health care services. These services are available to LUT University’s degree students who have paid the Student Union membership fee. The FSHS facilities are also located on campus.

Lahti Campus

LUT University’s new Lahti campus is located in the district of Niemi, three kilometres from the Lahti city centre and 500 metres from the harbour. The campus is smaller than the one in Lappeenranta, but starting from autumn 2020, it will offer a range of student services.

The campus in Lahti is a modern learning environment built in a former factory. Mixing the old and the new provides a unique and inspiring setting for learning and work. Also called the NiemiCampus, the facilities support multidisciplinary work and make the most of shared services and spaces.

Just like in Lappeenranta, you get student discounts on meals at the campus restaurant and can access the buildings 24/7. MOVEO provides a gym, group fitness workouts and a booking system for ball game courts also in Lahti. What’s more, the campus building houses many companies under the same roof, which creates the perfect opportunity for collaborating with businesses on different projects.
