Life must be diverse. Then luck will feel the best even if something was to happen. What’s happening with me right now – busy with the research project and lots of questions in my mind about how my dissertation will go, how can I improve my skills, etc.
But… In the lovely Carpe Diem -choir I have already sang for two seasons. The atmosphere there is pleasant and it feels like it’s a place for forming friendships. Many of the people there are good friends with each other. Singing brings wonderful and very gentle feelings, especially singing in a choir.
On the weekend we shared luck, love and warmth to our audience with the choir at Kehruuhuone, Lappeenranta. The choir is on a very high international level and we have the best leader, Nadja Härkönen. Our show programme also included Finnish tango champions Raja Oksanen and Kauko (Kake) Keränen. Kake also works as a professional photographer in addition to being a dance teacher.
Here are photos from the show. You can find more from here.
I like these two sayings,
Life isn’t about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself.
However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.
(Presumably said by George Bernard Shaw and Stephen Hawking in order, but I’m not sure since there is no real reference.) To me singing in this choir creates an inner world which is not a fantasy, but a real feeling of something very, very nice. Whatever difficulties there are at the moment (e.g. doing PhD is tough work), if you can succeed in your hobbies, it gives you additional power to keep up.
So, choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life. It’s true for me, and it’s true for our choir’s director Nadja who makes large efforts to manage the choir but does so with big pleasure.
Life should be rich on experiences, then the happiness feels best, even if something else hurts.
