I’ve just spent one of the best summers in my life. In Finland.I’ve attended a summer school at my university in Finland where we’ve had a lot of studies and the same amount of social activities.
The school lasts for four weeks and during this period I was happy to re-open for myself great companies such as IBM, Rovio (Angry Birds game), KONE and people from different parts of the world. And I’ve met my country-mates from Kazakhstan which made my experience in the summer school double unique.
I’ve spent amazing time with people from the Netherlands, the US, Canada, Russia and Germany. If my own schedule matched well with unofficial gathering I would spend all 24 hours per day with the summer school students.
The summer school altogether is about studying intensively and succeeding. But it’s also about making great things happen regardless of your background and experience. It’s about you growing in this environment, making friends here for life, and testing, perhaps changing yourself.
Evenings near the lake and the midnight sun.
What I really like about it, it’s a spirit. Nothing about religion but it’s about people. People have created this atmosphere of sharing & caring, partnership, integrity of all the backgrounds and everybody was right inside the program. It’s a bit different from an exchange program because in the summer school you don’t have a semester to study but only a month.
Studying process was intensive but interesting because we have done a lot exercises and projects. Here is the course of the Systematic Approach to Inventive Thinking
I hope that everyone has learned something for him/herself during this period, and that ECTS results have been supplemented by an exciting personal growth.
