I was glad when I got to know that we can learn foreign languages at the university as much and as many as we want. In many cases schools usually offer limited opportunities but here you have a freedom of the choice.
As an international student I was always impressed by the fact that how many African and European students are bilingual by birth (for example, French and Dutch, Finnish and Swedish, several of African languages and English/French, and so on).
However, learning languages at the university when you are mature enough is something different. Somehow it opens your mind and makes you able to understand the things as they are in reality while learning the language grammar activates brain cells and develops the logical thinking.

An internationally friendly environment helps a lot in the learning process. Sometimes I think how lucky I am to live in a such environment! We are provided with learning materials, aren’t that much stressed with the strict deadlines and the university cares about a friendly atmosphere inside. I’m sure that an emotional comfort in a study environment is one of the most important factors of learning things fast. It was known long ago, thus last century Michel Tomas had developed a method of language learning by putting people in their comfortable zone and making them feeling good while studying.
Because of that I’ve got many different friends from different parts of the world. They are from China, Ethiopia, Finland, Hungary, Ghana, Iran, Korea, Kazakhstan, Rwanda, Spain. Despite the difference in each culture people from all over the world have a lot of things in common! We can share many good moments together when everyone is open minded.
I think sometimes it’s important just to open your mouth and don’t be afraid to say the true
=)
